Our History

The Northglenn Community Foundation was formed in 1985 as the Northglenn Park Foundation.  In 2004, the board of directors saw a need to increase the scope of services that the park foundation could provide to Northglenn residents.  In order to meet these needs, the mission of the Northglenn Park Foundation was changed to an organization that is able to serve a larger portion of the community, and the Northglenn Community Foundation was created.

The Northglenn Community Foundation is registered with the Colorado Secretary of State’s Colorado Charitable Organizations.  For more information, please go to the Secretary of State Website and search for “Northglenn Community Foundation.”

Donations to the Northglenn Community Foundation are tax-deductible.

Annual Cancer Walk

Each fall, the Northglenn Community Foundation proudly supports the Northglenn Cancer Walk, an annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk held at E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park. Community members walk, roll, or stroll around Webster Lake (with an optional longer route through Charles Winburn Park) to honor survivors, remember loved ones, and stand with those affected by breast cancer. It’s an inclusive, all-abilities event, and leashed pups are always welcome!

Beyond the walk itself, the Foundation helps make free and low-cost breast cancer screening opportunities available on-site for participants who may need them most. Because regular screenings and early detection save lives, we’re proud to help connect our community with these vital wellness resources each year. Visit the Northglenn Cancer Walk page for this year’s date, schedule, and details on how to join us.

Environmental Sustainability Partnership

This year, the Northglenn Community Foundation partnered with r.World to bring reusable cups to our community events, replacing single-use, disposable options with r.World’s returnable, professionally sanitized cups. It’s a simple swap with a big impact, cutting down on event waste and reducing the CO2 footprint of everything we host. As we continue expanding our slate of community events, we’re committed to doing it in a way that’s kinder to Northglenn and the planet. Learn more about r.World’s mission to eliminate single-use waste.
